In 1955 Walt Disney lowered the draw-bridge from
the Sleeping Beauty Castle from his wonderful theme park, Disneyland. The bridge
serves as a gateway into a world of dreams comes true, a place filled with
laughter, joy and memorable attractions, a world simply known as FANTASYLAND.
Through the years Fantasyland has undergone many changes. It’s a Small World was
added in 1966 as was Pinocchio’s Daring Journey in 1983; the Skyway to
Tomorrowland closed its flights in 1994 and the Captain Hook’s Pirate Ship was
dismantled in 1983.
Now you can explore the land of Fantasyland as it was in 1955 and see the many
changes that occurred through the years. Witness the changes of the medieval
style layout of the land to the Bavarian style we know and love today, see the
closing of Sleeping Beauty’s Walk-Through in 2001 and reopen in 2008.
This is a fantastic episode of the many changes that occurred within the
Happiest Place on Earth, making Disneyland more spectacular year after year.
This is the first installment of a series that will take you through the ages of
Disneyland.
This DVD is 71 minutes of wonderment and shares the historic tale of Fantasyland
through the years with original photos and video footage.
Running Time: 71 minutes
